Blackrose Morgans: Angie Maple
Angie is the heart and soul of Blackrose Morgans. She has proudly trained Morgan horses for decades, and has become well known and respected for her ability to turn around troubled horses.
The Blackrose program emphasizes starting young horses (or restarting others) slowly to create a solid foundation for the horse and the rider alike. By doing this, the horse and rider develop a partnership that will help them have a successful career in any direction they choose, whether that be in the show ring, or at home.
WIth over 20 years of experience, Angie has learned exactly what it takes to develop a good foundation. She understands that no two personalities are alike - she will meet a horse where he or she is at, whether or not they are easy going and level headed or flighty and nervous, and anything in-between - and that this can change moment to moment at times. She dedicates herself to understanding the needs of each horse, and teaches those who ride with her in the program to learn to do the same.
Ride the horse you have today.
While Angie has shown on the A-Circuit in her career, and certainly enjoys taking her riders to that level, much of her focus has been on building a strong local circuit, because that is where so much begins. It is on the local level that you capture the eye of young riders, and mesmerize them with the beauty and versatility of the Morgan horse - and once you fall in love, there’s no going back!
