Lessons
The Blackrose Morgans lesson subscription is in it's 2nd year and going strong. Each session is 4 weeks long and includes 1 lesson weekly for the students. There are options available for trials and "drop-in" lessons as well, but taking advantage of the prepaid subscription will offer the most benefits - including the best pricing!
Weekly lessons are 30 minute private lessons with one of our amazing instructors in your agreed-upon time slot.
At Blackrose, horsemanship is our highest priority. It is our hope that our riders come away with an understanding of the care of their horse as a whole, not just how to navigate well around an arena while mounted in the saddle. Every rider should have at least a basic understanding of the care of these animals that we love so dearly and who work so hard for our enjoyment. Every rider should understand the use and purpose of the equipment they use as well, techniques to use to achieve goals of all kinds, and much more.
We've learned that this is something craved by not only children, but we've been asked for similar programming for adults to learn the basics and beyond in a judgment-free space. The lesson program is not just for children! In the warmer months, we also enjoy hosting "adult nights" where snacks are pot-luck and the activity takes the shape of whomever is present! It's a great way to learn some new things, enjoy the company of some great people, make connections, develop friendships...and before long you're part of the family!

Additional Educational Programming for Youth
Blackrose actively participates in the AMHA Merit Program and AMHA Youth of the Year Contests. This programming offers opportunities for youth to expand their knowledge of horses, especially Morgans, while fostering a sense of hard work and community service.
